COMPLETION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC

PROJECT IN NORMANDY

In a former WorldWar II

military feld

Martifer Solar completed a 5 MWp project at a former World War II military feld, located on the coast of Veules les Roses, in the region of Normandy, France.

According to David Osorio Mota, country manager of Martifer Solar in France, “this project presented several implementation difculties”, due to the need of having to preserve some structures of the former military feld. “Martifer Solar has the necessary skills to carry out any photovoltaic project, from large plants to the installation of microgeneration”, he said.

Martifer Solar was responsible for the EPC of this project having developed it from the very beginning up to the connection to the network and having supplied all the equipment, its installation and the operation and maintenance of the plant.

A total of 21,400 solar panels on fxed structures were installed in this plant, covering an area of 11 hectares. This plant will produce enough clean energy to supply 1,000 homes and avoid the emission of around 3,000 tons of CO

into the atmosphere.

Martifer Solar has signed an agreement with a company managed by BNP Paribas Clean Energy Partners for the construction of a 22MWp photovoltaic solar plant in Portugal.

In addition to the technical implementation of the project, Martifer Solar will also be responsible for the supply and turnkey installation of all the necessary equipment.

The project that will be carried out by Martifer Solar should be completed in

the frst half of 2012 and will produce 37.4GWh/year, the equivalent to the average consumption of over 10 thousand Portuguese families, thus avoiding the emission of around 15.200 tons of CO

per year into the atmosphere.

Henrique Rodrigues, CEO of Martifer Solar, was very happy with the signing of this important contract that “shows the ability of Martifer Solar in attracting foreign investment for the renewable energy sector in Portugal, in spite of the current difcult economic environment”.
