Within the scope of the Porto de Futuro project and the partnership established with the Manoel de Oliveira School Group, Rui Pedroto, executive director of the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, was at the Christmas party of the school group to deliver the merit awards ofered by the Foundation to the pupils of the Honours and Excellence Board.

The Manuel António da Mota Foundation supported the Christmas party for the homeless in Lisbon, organised by the Vida e Paz (Life and Peace) Community and which took place in December at the canteen of the Lisbon University. The Christmas party is an event that gathers around 1,000 volunteerswith the common aimof making the diference in the lives of around 2,500 guests by serving them friendly words and smiles with the warmmeals.

The Manuel António da Mota Foundation supported the seminar carried out by Rede Capacitar o Tâmega, “Novas Estratégias de Sustentabilidade das IPSS” (New Sustainability Strategies of Private Social Solidarity Institutions), which took place in November at Casa da Calçada. In addition to the fnancial contribution rendered by the Foundation, this conference counted with the participation of Rui Pedroto as speaker.
On 13 th January 2012, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Manuel António da Mota Foundation (FMAM), Mobilidade Positiva-Sociedade Portuguesa para a Mobilidade (MP) and Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (MG).
The protocol consists in coordinating benefts from FMAM and MP with the main goal of enabling FMAMbenefciaries to access the “Positive Mobility Solution”. This measure consists in ofering several diferent services to individuals with specifc needs as an integrated possibility of identifying, projecting, executing and managing solutions. within the scope of support products/ technical aid and also in the mobility and accessibility of benefciaries to the benefts of housing, including the correspondent funding directly linked with FMAM.
With this protocol FMAM intends to widen the response given to the support requests regularly received from handicapped citizens or temporarily incapable ones, with social and economic needs, who cannot promptly access other public or private technically adequate mobility and accessibility means.
