EGF/FINE ARTS AWARD
Marco Zecchinato, a student of sculpture, is the big winner of the EGF/Fine Arts Award.
The proposal selected by the jury of the EGF/Fine Arts Award symbolises renewal and brings attention to the environmental cycles, in a topic directly connected to EGF, which celebrates its 70th anniversary.
The Paper Sculpture of Marco Zecchinato starts from EGF’s sphere and creates
a shape that renews itself. Through a metamorphosis in which matter becomes something else, it becomes interconnected by the geometry and transcends itself as “pure shape, that develops vertically and almost becomes water, earth, wind and re”, in a direct reference to the Universe’s four elements.
This sculpture will remain on permanent display at EGF’s head o ce for those who wish to visit it.
