The goal is to create a model for an ecologically sustainable city with modern infrastructures and all that is required to have a pleasant life.
C ontinuing with the strategy of expansion in Latin America,
Mota‐Engil entered the Dominican Republic market with the
award of two sections of the Juan Bosch megaproject, located in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este. Developed by the Government and with the support of President Danilo Medina, this initiative seeks to meet the population’s housing needs.
This contract is the  rst urban project for the promotion and construction
of low‐cost housing promoted by Fideicomiso VBC RD of the Ministry of Presidency, to be carried out within the scope of a public‐private partnership. The Mota‐Engil group is responsible
for the design, construction, promotion and sale of the housing units through
a concession system.
A part of the work was started in December 2016 (Lot 02‐04‐01 of STAGE 1C) with considerable advances in the
construction and real estate sale phases, with the completion of 504 apartments expected to happen by the end of this year, with a total sales value expected to reach 17.7 million dollars.
The remaining area of the residential complex (Lot 01‐02‐04 of STAGE 2A) is still in the project execution phase, but the sale of properties has already started, and it is estimated that the 1,176 apartments will amount to around 42.9 million dollars.
THE CITY OF JUAN BOSCH
The city of Juan Bosch is the ambitious housing project that the Government
of the Dominican Republic began, to enable access to decent homes for tens
of thousands of Dominican families. With an area of three million m2 in Santo Domingo Este, the city of Juan Bosch
is the  rst major urban project which, thanks to a  duciary model, will enable the construction of a ordable homes in partnership with the private sector.
