MANVIA wins design and construction of two projects for SIMARSUL

The level of innovation of the MANVIA project was greatly appreciated by SIMARSUL, giving a highly favorable evaluation of its proposal and placing it above those of other competitors with proposals of a higher overall value.

MANVIA was the successful bidder for two lots for works in the area of Barreiro/ Moita subsystem for SIMARSUL – Sistema Integrado Multimunicipal de Águas Residuais da Península de Setúbal, SA.

The importance of this award lies in the fact that the execution project was developed entirely by MANVIA, and includes the most modern technologies available for the execution of installation works of wastewater pipes in which MANVIA is a specialist: the process of laying pipes without trenches, and restoration of existing pipes.

The level of innovation of the MANVIA project was greatly appreciated by SIMARSUL, giving a highly favorable

evaluation of its proposal and placing it above those of other competitors with proposals of a higher overall value.

The works include the execution of fve bore holes using the technique of laying pipes without trenches. A "Microtunneler" is used, to install reinforced concrete pipes with nominal diameters of between 1000 and 1200 mm, as well as restoring existing domestic wastewater drains. The two lots are for important works for the operationality of the entire Barreiro / Moita subsystem of SIMARSUL.

The value of the winning bid was €2.4 million, and the schedule for completion of each of the works is 6 months. The works in the frst lot began around the middle of January.
