The "Manuel António da Mota Award”, established in honor of the founder of the Group in line with his legacy of solidarity.

The deadline for applications ended on July 15, 2010 and 346 applications had been received from all over the country. The applications were subject to an assessment and selection process divided into two phases.
The frst one was of the responsibility of a selection committee composed of representatives of Mota-Engil, TSF and Deloitte, who selected 10 fnalist applications.
Then the Selection Jury, in a second phase, chose the winning bid from amongst the 10 top applications:

› Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Arganil
› Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Trofa
aimed at rewarding the Private Social Solidarity Institutions, that whose activities and projects allowed them to stand out in their daily fght against poverty and social exclusion.
Mota-Engil and TSF - Rádio Notícias formed a partnership to publicize the award and initiatives related to it.
Deloitte joined the Award as a consultant. The prize, in the amount of € 50,000, was intended especially to distinguish national social solidarity institutions (IPSS) with activities and projects to combat poverty and social exclusion intended for poverty-stricken persons with difculty in coping with life’s basic needs or who are in a situation or at risk of social exclusion.
The Award Regulations provided for a set of criteria for selection of applications to the competition, including innovation, coordination, coherence, territorial cohesion, involvement of benefciaries,
