In the TSF radio programme "Portugal United" stories of those who give and receive this kind of solidarity were made public. As part of this programme, TSF divulged and introduced in website a collection of articles and videos with each one of the fnalist institutions.
21 November was marked by the Conference "Portugal United" and the announcement of the winning candidate of the Award "Manuel António da Mota" which was delivered by the President of the Republic, Cavaco Silva.
The Palácio da Bolsa in Oporto was the site chosen for the conference which included presence of the President of the European Commission, Durão Barroso, Isabel Jonet, President of the Portuguese Federation of Food Banks against Hunger and Jorge Ortiga, President of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference.
Mrs. Manuela Eanes, on behalf of the Jury, and António Mota, on behalf of Mota-Engil, spoke before the closing speech of the President.
ASTA - Socio-Therapeutic Association of Almeida won and received the Award of € 50,000 from the hands of the President of the Republic. The remaining nine fnalist institutions received honorable mentions in value of € 5,000.

The voting was preceded by a series of visits to the candidate institutions, thus allowing the Jury to assess the activities developed by the institutions "in situ".
The selection jury was composed of two members of Mota-Engil and individualities of recognized merit and proven experience in areas of social security and solidarity:

Member of the Mota-Engil SGPS Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Manuel António Mota Foundation.
