Public-private partnership in themunicipal water distribution and wastewater collection company in the municipality of S. João da Madeira (about 22 000 inhabitants).

SAFE COMMITMENTS

Over the past ten years INDAQUA has been committed to the design and management of infrastructure investment plans of its concessionaires. In some cases, this investment resulted in the largest fnancial transactions in thewater sector in Portugal.

In total, these plans have involved more than Euro 350 million, roughly 200 wastewater pumping stations, more than 1,500 km of water distribution networks and 1,250 kmof sewerage networks.

These works, executed predominantly in urban areas and, with a construction rate contained in the contract, sometimes involve in each municipality over 30 simultaneous intervention fronts.

WARRANT FOR SKILLS

The management of several concession contracts, over its 16 years of existence, allows INDAQUA to hold advanced

knowledge in diverse technologies applied to the management of a water company, with implications not only at a more technical level but also in commercial, administrative and fnancial areas. The development of various skills allows the company to provide the best solutions for the sector.

Under the concession projects, INDAQUA has developed numerous Master Plans (Master Plans for the development of water and sanitation municipal infrastructures). In preparing this Master Plan many aspects are taken into account such as: optimization of the hydraulic operation of networks and electromechanical facilities; boost of energy efciency, economic sustainability, quality of infrastructure and materials; reduction of water loss, customer satisfaction, amongst others.

RELATIONSHIP WITH CLIENTS AND MANAGEMENT

The evolution of computer systems and data communication systems and its application in company’s managing water infrastructures is now a reality, allowing them to take advantage of the technology to support daily operational management.
