Distinction for Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construção Moçambique

The remodelling and expansion of the São Tomé International Airport is of the responsibility of Mota-Engil Angola and the project was fnanced by the Angolan oil company, Sonangol. Intervention on the infrastructure

airport terminal from the current 900 m 2 to 1500 m 2 . According to Gilberto Rodrigues this project marks the start of the company’s internationalisation.

In his speech, Gilberto Rodrigues thanked the fnancing entity and the São Tomé and Príncipe government for their trust and highlighted that he expects to meet the expectations created in this important infrastructure intervention.

Within the scope of the initiative promoted by the international consultancy frm KPMG, the companies Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construção Moçambique

and EMOCIL integrated the “The Top 100 Companies in Mozambique”, ranking 24 th and 82 nd , respectively.

The company assessment was based on fnancial information of 2010.

In addition to integrating the top 100 Mozambican companies, highlight also goes to the distinction received by Mota-Engil Engenharia e Construção Moçambique for frst place out of the 100 top companies in the category “Greatest Variation in Turnover” of the sector.

On 8 th December Paulo Pereira represented Mota-Engil at the award ceremony and received the prize.

This distinction by KPMG refects the growth of the Mota-Engil Group over the past few years in Mozambique in line with the Group’s increase in investment in this market.
