The principal mission for
the Strategic Consultative
Council is to consider the
future at all levels.
In early 2013 and at the decision of
the Chairman of the Board of Directors
António Mota, the constitution of
the Conselho Consultivo Estratégico
(CCE – Strategic Consultative Council),
a body for discussion and reflection
which brings together a wide variety of
accumulated knowledge and experience
so that, as affirmed by Jorge Coelho, the
Chairman of the CCE, it will be possible
“to see further and more quickly than
others” and adding that “it is with this

A year after the formation of this new
consultative body, Jorge Coelho was asked
to make an assessmentand and give his
perspective of the activity over the course of
2013.

What do you consider to be the principal
mission for the CCE?
The principal mission for the Strategic
Consultative Council is to consider the
future at all levels. It should reflect the
evolution of the economy as well as political
and social trends in the regions where we
work. It should also reflect on new market
and business opportunities along with the
specific evolution of the markets where
the Group operates. In brief, it should be
constantly ahead of day-to-day events in a
logic of global perspectives.
