In recent years TCL has become a major cluster for regional development, increa-
sing the numbers of container movements and contributing to the development of
the Terminal as well as the surrounding community by generating employment
and cash flow for the area.
An illustration of the progress of TCL was the achievement of the absolute record
in terms of daily container movements (and TEU) on January 10, with 2,930 con-
tainers and 3,654 TEU with nine vessels docking.
The previous record was at 2,199 containers and 3,355 TEU and was unbeaten
since July 25 of last year, the record in 2013 having been beaten three times and
demonstrating the efficiency of the infrastructure which enjoys the confidence of
operators and a clear recognition of the quality of the service provided.

In an initiative organised by magazine
Transportes & Negócios
, TCL was once
again voted the Best Container Terminal
operator in Portugal with some 65.4% of
the votes, far ahead of its competitors.
This year’s award extends the series of
triumphs initiated with the creation of
TCL, its history entwined with the T & N
Cargo Awards.
For TCL, the successive recognition of its
performance by peer companies,
customers and business partners, repre-
sents a further stimulus to go on doing
everything possible to provide an un-
beatable service to the logistics chains
which pass through Leixões.
