AND EXPANSION
OF THE ROAD
EN180 – DUNDO/
LUCAPA SECTION
The project executed,
cornerstone of the
intra-provincial road
system, reduces by half
the connecting time
between both cities.
The rehabilitation and expansion of
the 124 kimlometres Dundo-Lucapa
section of the road EN 180, con-
necting the provinces of Moxico,
Lunda Sul and Lunda Norte, serving
approximately 1,200,000 inhabitants in
the Angolan outback was completed.
The rehabilitation of this road infrastruc-
ture, started in August 2012, included
expanding the carriageway to 11 metres
width, in a traffic lane with two paved
carriageways, horizontal and vertical
signing system, and strengthening
of the storm water drainage system,
ensuring the consistency and duration
of the infrastructure.
The conclusion of this project, worth
131. 7 million dollars (about 98 million
Euros), improves the quality of life of
local populations considerably, increasing
comfort and safety, and reducing by half the
connecting time between both cities.
