was
awarded
the concession for 27 years for the
construction, operation, maintenance and
conservation of the Siervo de la Nación
motorway which is also known as Gran
Canal, a 14 kilometre stretch through a
densely populated area and an important
access road to the centre of Mexico City.
The contract for the construction of the
road is worth some 280 million.
Nine viaducts are to be constructed witha
total length of 4.5 kilometres and using
432 prefabricated and pre-stressed, 30-
metre long box beams, 164,000 cubic
metres of reinforced concrete, 14,200
tonnes of steel mesh for the reinforced
concrete and 1,166 tonnes of pre-stressed
steel. The structures will form part of six
motorway interchanges.
In addition to the viaducts, the contract
requires the following:

In a year marked by the announcement
of a series of new contracts, Mota-Engil
Mexico ends its second year in the
country with the achievement of its
objectives for the growth of its business
and the consolidation of its position
as a major operator in the infrastructure
field.
Following its entry in 2008 as part of
a consortium for the Perote-Xalapa
concession,Mota-EngilMexicoconsolidated
its position through increasing investment
supported by confidence in the degree of
potential development for the country.
