RENOVATION OF THE BRIDGE OVER CÁVADO RIVER
IS PROCEEDING AT A GOOD PACE
The work consists of an access viaduct on the south side and the bridge on the north side, with extensions of about 253 m each, totalling 506 m.
A t the beginning of the year, and under the responsibility of the
Prestressing operational unit of Mota‐Engil Engenharia e Construção, started the complete work to renovate
and replace the support devices of the bridge over the Cávado river and its corresponding access viaduct, located at PK 45+800 of A28, under concession from Norte Litoral.
In each direction of the motorway, the work consists of, an access viaduct on the south side and the bridge on the north side, with extensions of about 253 m each, totalling 506 m.
Although both decks were relatively concomitant in their design and construction – early 90s – the engineering structure that includes the
