MAKING
A DIFFERENCE
n the Global World in which we live, we are aware that we must be quick to respond and in permanent competition, but also maintaining a continuous investment in innovation to ensure evolution in the industry
according to the best practices in the market.
Recognising this concern, in the last issue of SINERGIA we highlighted the topic of Innovation, for the relevance that it has had for us in recent years.

In this issue, it is worth highlighting that, even at an accelerated speed, our values remain the same, firm and unwavering, and the Group’s culture enables us to show that, when necessary, we identify priorities to Make a Difference.
That is what we did in Mozambique.

This issue of SINERGIA does not seek to show the world what we did to provide support during the calamity caused by Idai and Kenneth cyclones. No, that is not our culture. The emphasis seeks only to recognise all those at Mota‐Engil Mozambique who have come together to support those who most need it, with the organisation
as a whole having been mobilised to support the emergency situation, as well as the reconstruction that is now beginning.
We have been working in the country for 28 years because we believe in Mozambique, just as the country knows that it can trust Mota‐Engil at every moment and at every stage of its development.
To make a difference is to demonstrate our ability to be present, especially in the worst times, building sincere and lasting relationships, creating bonds for life.
We firmly believe and hope that the international community will unite to support Mozambique, a country that has everything to conquer its future after the established peace agreement and a potential for economic development where the exploitation of gas in the north of the country may prove truly transformative to the country’s reality.
We also show in SINERGIA the launch of the 1st edition of the Manuel António da
Mota Award in Angola, a moment in which the Presidents of the Republic of Angola
and Portugal were in Luanda, and with the First Lady of Angola honouring us with her involvement in presenting an award granted on the occasion to the D. Bosco Foundation. We will always be grateful for the recognition that their presences mean to Mota‐Engil, for its uninterrupted work of 73 years in the service of Angola and the Angolans.
