TMN BENEFITS

more benefts to Mota-Engil employees

Voice telecommunications, one of the preferred means of interpersonal communication, is an essential tool for the Mota-Engil Group employees to perform their professional activities, emphasising their frequent mobility.

Given the size, infrastructure complexity, and operation level within our organization, as well as the associated quality and reliability, a high demand level is required, which also implies high fnancial costs.

To balance these factors, which are difcult to weigh, we must fnd the best cost efective solutions. Periodically (every three years) and through invitations to tender, we challenge the reference operators within the domestic market.

In this regard, Mota - Engil - SGPS's Cost Efciency and Control Commission promoted MESP, and particularly Information Systems, making it responsible for the development and coordination of the tendering process for

the provision of voice telecommunication services. This began with the preparation of the respective specifcationswhichwere placed at the disposal of the operators in August 2009.

Thus, began a long stage of technical and economic analysis of proposals submitted by operators and their consequent interaction in the setting of basic parameters that provide the best solutions to serve Mota-Engil's interests in this matter. This ended in mid-April 2010, with the deliberation and approval of the most competitive bid, submitted by group PT / TMN. Therefore, there was a change in operator and a 25% cost cut is foreseen compared to the previous contract.

The change in operator has afected nearly 2,000 mobile telecommunication services, including mobile phones and broadband data cards, and around 1,200 fxed telephone network extensions (central buildings: Oporto, Linda-a-Velha and the Port Alto Yard), which is Mota-Engil’s private voice network (PVN) and where their communications have no cost. It was decided that the Group's numbering planwould be kept, associated to a process technically known as

"operator portability," which is the way of maintaining the same telephone number, whether it be fxed or mobile.

The solutions found in the culmination of this entire project not only resulted in technical and economic benefts for group Mota-Engil, as was mentioned above, but also for their employees and respective families, in particular. Thanks to the protocol signed with TMN, entitled "TMN protocol", each employee can subscribe to 3 services in their name under the same conditions.

There are approximately one thousand employees who subscribed to TMN, nearly 2,270 to mobile voice and data services, between mobile phones and broadband data cards. Therefore, they beneft from preferential rates similar to those agreed for group Mota-Engil, with free calls, since they are considered as being part of the Group's PVNnetwork.

The benefts provided to employees of a large Group like Mota-Engil are undeniable. This is one example.

It was decided that the Group's numbering plan would be kept, associated to a process technically known as "operator

portability," which is the way of maintaining the same telephone number, whether it

be fxed or mobile.
