Various training actions were carried out on the HR Portal for employees who had access to computers. Afterwards, the payslip functionality became available on this portal for recording and/or printing. From that moment on, it was no longer necessary to issue and send paper payslips, with the associated benefts of cuts in costs and in paper circulation. No less important was the fact that with this measure we were also able to help preserve the environment.

The process of no longer sending paper payslips to those with access to the HR Portal began in December 2009, with MESP serving as the "pilot" company. Gradually, it was extended to other Group companies. Currently, this process is in place at 14 of ME Group companies, covering nearly 1,600 workers.

This process will continue to be implemented in more companies, encompassing a growing number of users.

SEMINARWITHIN THESCOPE OF “EUROSKILLS”

Euroskills 2010 – European Championship of Professions took place in Lisbon between 9 th and 12 th December 2010.

In addition to the championship other parallel events were held, amongst which an Educational Seminar entitled “Formação em Alternância – Centros de Formação e Empresas, uma intervenção articulada” (Training in Alternation – Training Centres and Companies, an integrated intervention”, organized by the Department of Professional Training of IEFP (Institute for Employment and Vocational Training).

Mota-Engil was invited by the Professional Training Centre to participate in the event. It was represented by Rui Pedroto, Head of Social Responsibility and Sustainability.

Mota-Engil sponsors the commemoration programme of the University of Oporto which commemorates its one hundredth anniversary this year. This programme will take place throughout the year with various cultural and scientifc events.

PAYSLIPS ON THE HR PORTAL SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

MOTA-ENGIL OFFERS SHOWS

Within the scope of a protocol signed with the producer “Todos ao Palco” of Filipe La Féria, Mota-Engil provided an opportunity for its employees and a group of private social solidarity institutions in the municipality of Oeiras to attend the shows “Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo” and “Fado – História de umPovo”, free of charge.

Exclusively for Mota-Engil, around 600 employees and its families, specially the children, attended the show “Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo” (recreated version of the TV series) at the Rivoli Theatre in Oporto, that delighted the public that once saw in on TV.

Four days before, on 23 December, over 700 elderly of the municipality of Oeiras

attended the show “Fado – História de um Povo” at the Estoril Casino.

The Oeiras Town Council and several other Local Parishes and institutions of the Oeiras municipality helped in the organisation of the event.

The Mayor of the Oeiras Town Council, the Deputy Mayor and the Town Councilor responsible for Social Action within the municipality were present at the event. Rui Pedroto, Head of Social Responsibility and Sustainability representedMota-Engil.

Within the scope of the creation of the CPLP Corporate Confederation, its portal was launched on 21 July 2010. Mota-Engil co-fnanced the launch of this project.
