NEW CONSTRUCTION

IN POLAND

The symbolic ceremony for the start of the construction of the 4km road that will connect the Polish national roads 77 and 28, of the responsibility of Mota-Engil Central Europe, counted with the speeches of Pedro Fernandes, member of the Board of Directors of the company, and of Robert Choma, Mayor of the Przemyśl Town Council. The work is expected to be completed in 2012.

Mota-Engil Central Europe received the main award of the competition “Eagles of the Polish Construction Industry” for the category General Contractor.

The prize was collected by the Head of the Marketing, PR, Communication and Administration Division.

This event is organised by the Supreme Council of Trade and Services (NRZHiU), the Trade, Industry and Services Association of Mazowsze (MZHPiU) and by Europa 2000 Consulting Sp. Z.o.o.

The total cost of the viaduct totalled around 11.08 million euros. The project was also attributed a subsidy of approximately 7.77 million euros.

Central Europe starts with the eastern road of Przemysl

The inauguration of the viaduct rebuilt by Mota-Engil Central Europe in Stalowa Wola, in Poland, counted with the presence of the President of Podkarpackie Voivodeship, of the Head of Mota-Engil Central Europe for the region, of representatives of Podkarpacki Zarząd Dróg Wojewódzkich (Podkarpackie Voivodeship Road Authority) and of other members of local Government.

The reconstruction works consisted of the increase in cargo support capacity from 30 to 40 tonnes, the creation of pedestrian and

bicycle paths and the assembly of acoustic flters, impact barriers and new lighting. The drainage of rain water was equally updated. The structure now comprehends two identical road viaducts, each 418m in length. The total cost of the viaduct totalled around 11.08million euros.

The project was also attributed a subsidy of approximately 7.77 million euros from the Regionalny Program Operacyjny Województwa Podkarpackiego (Podkarpackie Voivodeship Regional Operational Programme).
