The highway IC3 Condeixa/Coimbra
– Lot 3 is a major part of the Pinhal
Interior Concession its main routes
being the A13/ IC3 between Tomar
and Coimbra and the IC8, connecting
Pombal (A17/A1) and Vila Velha de
Rodão (A23).
The contract includes the building of
seven viaducts and bridges, the most
representative being the 930 metre bridge
over the River Ceira, with a main
span of 250 metres and a height of
240 metres above the riverbed and a
26.4 metre wide roadway.
With a start date on the April 2, 2012
and finishing on March 31, 2014, the
completion time is demanding given
the complexity of the job in question.
Equally important and distinguishing
this from other elements is the list of
civil engineering works in relation
to the extent of the contract. From a
total of approximately 7 kilometres,
3 are civil engineering works, as
a consequence of which a range of
special equipment was assembled
including launching beams and form
travellers.
