The 400/60 KV sub-station contract at Feira
built byMota-Engil Engenharia for REN has
been operational since October 2013.
Located in the parish of Louredo in the
municipality of Santa Maria da Feira,
the contract was worth 11 million euros
and was completed within the 11 months
contracted after some 92,000 man-hours

technical facilities and the fencing-off of
the site.

the building of internal access roads to
the sub-station installations together with
the lanscaping of the site to fit in with the
local environment. Of the 750,000 cubic
metres
of earth moved, almost 90,000
cubic metres were removed by blasting.
Mota-Engil Engenharia was rewarded
with a special merit award for its
management of health and safety at work
during the contract for the construction
of Ultra High Voltage sub-stations due to
the complete avoidance of accidents in the
course of the work carried out for REN.
