Last May, the consignment note was signed for the contract to stabilise the northern cliff of the Azenhas do Mar Beach, in the municipality of Sintra.
The work on this cliff, under the responsibility of Mota‐Engil Engenharia e Construção, seeks to minimise the
risk arising from the erosion of the rock mass, guaranteeing the safety conditions
required for the presence and circulation of people and goods around the site, and to guarantee the stability of the urban area supported by the cliff’s ridge.
With a duration of 11 months and a contract value of approximately 1.6 million euros, this project is expected to be complex and high‐risk, being carried out with suspended means using steel cables and/or cranes.

The contract had a six-week completion time and works included sample collection.
PILE TESTING FIELD
North Lisbon Logistics Platform
The operational unit of Foundations of Mota‐Engil Engenharia e Construção was awarded a work on lot 19 of the North Lisbon Logistics Platform, which consisted of carrying out tests on piles seeking to optimise the design of the building’s foundations and to validate the execution processes.
This contract lasted six weeks and included the execution of moulded piles,
drilled piles, inclusions and static and dynamic load tests in each of these types of foundation structures.
This was the largest pile‐testing field ever carried out in the Iberian Peninsula.
To complement the information provided by the tests, samples were also collected.
