During the visit, it was possible to make known the size of the ongoing operation, with an average daily collection of
3,163 tonnes and an urban cleaning of 7,000 km per month, in a moment that was remarkable for all, not just for the Portuguese but also for the locals, due to the warm way in which the Portuguese President was present, by making a point of greeting the employees who were at the company’s premises and by addressing words of encouragement in a project
that is only a few months old, but where the investment made by Mota‐Engil in technologically advanced equipment was evident, in order to provide a superior quality service in the country.

MAMF SUPPORTS
VACCINATION CAMPAIGN
The Manuel António da Mota Foundation, through the Mota-Engil Africa Initiatives programme and
in partnership with the Children of Africa Foundation, supported the vaccination of 10 thousand children, from 3 to 15 years old, against typhoid fever,
in Côte d'Ivoire.
This disease can be transmitted by ingesting contaminated water or food, and, in 2018, it had a high incidence in the region due to high levels of rainfall.
This campaign took place in the most precarious districts of the city of Abidjan: Attécoubé, Cocody-
Bingerville, Abobo, Kossihouen and Youpougon, and had the support of the Ministry of Health, through
the National Institute of Public Hygiene, and of each district’s local health authorities, in order to enable the participation and mobilisation of the people.
During the vaccination campaign, the MAMF also raised awareness regarding the habits needed to prevent diseases caused by the lack of basic hygiene care. These campaigns are extremely important for the country where they are carried out, and the MAMF is keen to contribute to the promotion of the health and well-being of these children.
