ITS FUTURE
MOTA‐ENGIL CONTRIBUTING TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE AFRICAN CONTINENT.
M ota‐Engil supported two events that took place recently in
Portugal and had, as central and common elements, the promotion of the strengthening of cooperation between Europe and Africa in different domains.
In fact, the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) and EurAfrican had the mission of contributing to give notoriety and international recognition to the existing potential in the African continent, as well as contributing to the reflection on how companies can participate in the realisation of Africa’s affirmation for its economic and social development.
AFRICA ENERGY FORUM
In the case of the Africa Energy Forum, which is in its 21st edition, Mota‐Engil Africa was present in different panels of the conference, with the participation of Manuel Mota, CEO of Mota‐Engil Africa, who was a guest speaker at
the opening of the conference and in the panel dedicated to partnerships in Portuguese‐speaking Africa, José Carlos Nogueira, CFO of Mota‐Engil Africa, who participated in the panel dedicated
to risk mitigation, and Roberto Vidal Ferreira, responsible for the area of Business Development in Africa, who shared experience on the most recent Investment trends in Africa.
Being a relevant discussion forum in which several political leaders from different African countries participated, the AEF was a success with the presence of dozens of speakers who animated the discussion of important topics for four days in Lisbon.
EURAFRICAN
Held at the Nova School of Business
and Economics, in the municipality of Cascais, EurAfrican, a forum hosted by the Council of the Portuguese Diaspora, was attended by different speakers of different nationalities who contributed to the reflection on the relationship between Europe and Africa with the motto “partnership between equals: sharing values, sharing prosperity” and to which Mota‐Engil was associated.
The highlight of the event was the “Conversation between Presidents”,
which included the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, who, as part of the official visit of the Mozambican head of state to Portugal, brightened the session.
During this moment, a very strong feeling of friendship between the two countries was evident, best reflected by their leaders, and it was also fully shown, in light of the discussion of the current
