FORUM
MOTA‐ENGIL AFRICA PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE CITY OF KIGALI, RWANDA.
For the first time in seven editions, the “Africa CEO Forum” (ACF) took place in East Africa, in the city of Kigali (Rwanda), with the presence of several political
and business leaders and investors,
who together and in the discussion and reflection of ideas, contribute to the recommendation of reforms to accelerate African economic integration.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame opened the conference, noting that he sees this
as an opportunity to discuss mechanisms on how to make the most of the CFTA (Continental Free Trade Area) treaty:
“We don’t have any time to waste to do what is necessary”, he added, arguing for regional integration to transform the well‐being of Africans.
Manuel Mota, CEO of Mota‐Engil
Africa, participated as a speaker in the “Infrastructure and local financing:
a 1000 billion dollar opportunity”,
an event where the company was a finalist in the “African Champion of the year” category.
For Mota‐Engil, the nomination was another important recognition, after being
considered the Company of the Year in 2017, taking into account that ACF is
the largest international meeting of the private sector in Africa, attracting more than 1800 CEOs and investors from major African and international companies, where the topic to be addressed was regional integration to boost the growth of the African economy.
