THE COMPLETION OF THIS WORK ALLOWS FOR A FASTER AND MORE COMFORTABLE ROUTE BETWEEN LISBON AND VIANA DO CASTELO AND INCREASES THE CAPACITY FOR TRANSPORTING GOODS.

With the electrification of this section, which represented an investment of 16.5 million euros along 44 km of railroad, it will now be possible to travel between Lisbon and Viana do Castelo without changing trains. The completion of the work will allow for the reduction of journey time, the increase in the competitiveness of the
railway line connecting Nine to Viana do Castelo was concluded, and the inaugural trip was attended by the Prime Minister, António Costa, accompanied by the Minister of Infrastructures and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos.
