2018 was a turn‐around year and a year
of investments in which EGF implemented new ways of communicating with the public. It was the year in which the
public service benefitted from European
funds, and the group was able to begin carrying out its mission, robustly and consistently. Various communication applications made by the concessionaires were approved by POSEUR – Operational
Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources – and carried out in 2018, reinforcing the initiatives of contact with the public and various target audiences.
2018 COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS
• Over 16.8 million contacts in environmental communication actions and campaigns;
• Over 34,300 awareness actions in schools, businesses, services and events, involving more than 450,000 participants;
• Over 375,000 students and 938,000 families participated in the school contests of the Ecovalor Programme;
• 26,628 awareness actions held in different businesses from north to south;
• Over 7 million contacts made in the 200 national EcoEvents held;
• Over 9.3 million contacts made in 49 additional environmental education campaigns;
• Over 2.4 thousand tonnes of recyclable waste collected, directly associated with the additional campaigns carried out. Added to this is the positive effect of the overall increase of more than 11%
in the selective collection, compared to the previous year;
• Visits to the installations of concessionaires totalled 388 and involved 9,978 participants;
• The Recycle BinGo app was a success and received various awards, registering over 20,000 downloads, 8,700 users and 34,600 views.
