The Prestressing Operational Unit of Mota-Engil Engenharia participated in the various activities of its area of expertise when building the viaduct over Avenida Castro Van-Dunem “Loy” in Camama, Luanda. The viaduct has the particularity of being highly curved in horizontal plan and vertical elevation.
In this project, the Prestressing Operational Unit drew up the designs of the area of expertise, and carried out the supply of the support equipment, the supply, assembly, tensioning and injection of the adherent prestressing wire rope
cables in the deck, and the supply and installation of the expansion joints.

of this just‐completed project is to help boost the advancement and development of the country, offering a consistent improvement in the highway system for the circulation of traffic in the Luanda Metropolitan Region, offering users greater safety and speedier travel.
The viaduct has a total length of 282 metres and is made up of on‐ramps
and an 80‐metre‐long deck. The cross‐ sectional profile has two carriageways and hard shoulders, totalling 9.3 metres in width, a drainage system for rain water, public lighting, and vertical and horizontal traffic signs.
