In addition to the Presidents of the Republics of Portugal and Angola, the event was attended by the First Lady of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço, and other notable figures from Angolan society. Representing MAMF were the members of the Africa Committee: Inês Mota, Teresa Mota Neves and Alexandra Romão, as well as Manuel Mota, CEO
of Mota‐Engil Africa, and Carlos Mota Santos, vice‐CEO of the Mota‐Engil Group.
In her speech, Inês Mota stated, “The ‘Manuel António da Mota Award – A Life in Angola’ is a tribute to all Angolans and to the time my grandfather spent
in this country. The announcement of
this award formalises the activity of the Foundation in Angola, which, for the Mota family, represents the preservation and materialization of the values that governed my grandfather’s life, and also reflects the Mota‐Engil Group’s attitude regarding social responsibility in all the regions in which we operate”.
During the ceremony, the Dom Bosco Foundation was awarded an Honourable Mention, presented by the First Lady
of Angola. This foundation will also be awarded money for its work, focused on the implementation of various projects linked to education, professional training and community development, principally benefiting children and young people.
