    PRIVATE INVESTMENT:
AN ENGINE IN NORTHERN MEXICO
THE PARTNERSHIP WITH MOTA‐ENGIL WILL ENSURE GREATER SAFETY
IN THE CIRCULATION OF VEHICLES AND WILL ENABLE A REDUCTION IN TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN TAMPICO AND CIUDAD VICTORIA.
This is a ten‐year project with an investment
of 224 million dollars.
Mota‐Engil México won the contract for the maintenance and preservation of the Tampico (Altamira) – Ciudad Victoria road link, which includes five sections of federal roads.
The project, carried out in a brownfield model, was presented during the Strategic Impulse Event for the Public‐Private Association Projects of the Federal Government of Mexico, and was awarded to the consortium led by Mota‐Engil México, with a stake of 47%.
This is a ten‐year project with an investment of 224 million dollars that will improve road infrastructure conditions and increase safety for the more than six thousand vehicles that use the road daily. It is worth mentioning that the project received financing from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and by the local
Banobras Bank in January 2019, for a total of 87 million dollars.
This road has a length of over 225 km, in which several continuous maintenance works, 90 engineering structures, several signs and protection barriers have already been carried out. Renovation work is also being carried out on four of
the road’s nine sections, which should be completed by December 2020.
In addition to providing greater safety in vehicle traffic, this work will enable reducing journey times by facilitating the transport of goods, since more than 30% of traffic consists of heavy goods vehicles.
