MOTA-ENGIL INVOLVED
IN A SEA TURTLE CONSERVATION PROJECT
MOTA‐ENGIL IS DEVELOPING SEVERAL ACTIONS FOR THE PROTECTION OF SEA TURTLES IN NAYARIT, MEXICO.
Mota‐Engil is working on the tourism infrastructure project “Costa Canuva”, in partnership with the National Tourism Development Fund (FONATUR), located on the Nayarit Riviera (Pacific coast),
an area that requires a strong work of preservation, care and awareness about marine fauna.
Mota‐Engil is aware of the importance of the protection and respect for the environment, so it continues to join forces and mobilise volunteers, namely
for actions with the Ecological Groups of Nayarit A.C., to protect the sea turtles on the Naranjo beach and to preserve the species.
Thus, as part of the preservation and awareness work on marine fauna, Mota‐Engil has carried out surveillance actions, especially to protect the dozens of egg nests in the area.
Mota‐Engil also promotes cleaning days on beaches, as well as environmental
awareness actions in schools and hotel resorts, seeking to protect and preserve the turtles’ lives and well‐being.
Thanks to Mota‐Engil’s commitment to this issue of environmental responsibility in Costa Canuva, 350 nests have already been rescued in half a year.
